Day 11. Nájera to Santo Domingo de Calzada. 21km/13m

Ouch
It was a beautiful walk today with 70% of it on wide country tracks. We had clear blue skies and rolling hills with an abundance of wild flowers. I wore my Teva sandals all day, which helped, but I had foolishly let the damage be done yesterday and it was a painful 13miles. Santo Domingo has live chickens in its Cathedral. Google the crazy tale if you like. We are staying in a X11C Convent with penguiny-type nuns floating about. I am single-footedly keeping farmacias going in Spain. Today I tried to mime antiseptic wipes. Senora looked at me and then gave me pen and paper to draw it. Don’t try this at home.
Leone walked 32k today to be here. What a star she is. We 5 had dinner with Elka from Berlin, Angie from Munich and Jean from Holland. It was bed with my kindle at 8.30. Rock n Roll lifestyle or what.
